Tell us about what you do
I'm retired professional hockey player. Played for 14 seasons within the NHL, six years in the KHL, played various leagues throughout Europe.
Tell us about why you switched from whey
I switched to plant based protein probably six years ago from whey, and I noticed some pretty profound effects. The way I felt bloated, body fat wise, just the way my body handled the plant based versus the dairy. So, I went to a no dairy diet and kind of followed that trend a little bit. Now after trying Modus, I've noticed a little improvement from the existing product I was using, very well known product, too, I think, Vega Sport, and I felt like it was a little less, a little easier to digest, a little less hard on my stomach.
Tell us about your experience with Modus
I really was happy with the taste, first and foremost. The chocolate was awesome. We actually mixed it with the overnight oats, and a pretty good snack coming right off the ice and having a, refuelling with a little protein, not just carbohydrates. So, that was good.
There's a combination of things when you're training from the season, it was in the off season when I started doing that and I was training with, at the time, Ben Prentiss in Connecticut, pretty well known trainer, and yeah. He got me on that, and I noticed definitely leaning down. I think that was the biggest difference for me. When I got rid of the dairy and got rid of the whey products, started really dialling in my nutrition, I really leaned out very quickly. Felt like those extra greens gave me a lot of benefit in terms of being more optimized and stuff like that.
So, I liked it. It just felt easier on the stomach and better overall.
